Global stocks surged higher and the S&P500 closed above the 5200 level for the first time on Wednesday (20/03/24), after the Federal Reserve decided to leave interest rates unchanged at 5.25% - 5.50% and indicated that there would be 3x rate cuts this year, easing the anxiety of market participants that the US Inflation figures that tend to heat up lately will make the Fed keep interest rates high.
