Highlights of November’s Inflation
Indonesia posted November’s inflation of 0.27% m-m, slightly lower than October’s inflation of 0.28% m-m. Based on the updated development, on a cumulative basis, until November, inflation was at 2.50% YTD. Meanwhile, on an annual basis, November’s inflation was at 3.23%, slightly higher than October’s inflation of 3.16%.

 

Volatile Inflation and Administered Prices Kept in Check
Core, administered prices, and volatile components posted inflation, e.g. volatile component posting inflation of 0.23% m-m, slightly higher than October’s inflation of 0.17% m-m. Although volatile component posted higher inflation in November 2018, its figure was the lowest among 2014-2017 volatile inflation. On an annual basis, volatile component posted inflation of 4.32%, more lagging than inflation of 4.48% it posted in October. Volatile inflation in November mainly sourced from shallots, rice, broiler eggs, tomatoes, and carrots.

Meanwhile, administered prices posted inflation of 0.52% m-m in November 2018. The figure hiked from October’s inflation of 0.32%m-m. Inflation posting by this component was mainly derived from inflation of air-flight tariffs along with year-end peak season. The increment in inflation was also attributable to further impacts of increment in non-subsidized fuel prices taking into effect on October 10th, 2018. On an annual basis, administrated prices posted inflation 3.07%, higher than October’s inflation of 2.74%.
